It’s the most famous epic from India – The Ramayana, but told from the point of view of the female protagonist – Sita.

The Ramayana’s popularity, the world over is very well known.   The Ramayana is not just an epic, but also a treatise on social, cultural and personal behaviour.  Rama, the protagonist is also known as “Maryada Purushottam” because Rama’s life and journey is one of perfect adherence to dharma, despite harsh tests of life and time.  He is pictured as the ideal man and the perfect human.  While all interpretations of The Ramayana focus on this aspect, Siya ke Ram explores the story of The Ramayana from the point of view of the female protagonist Sita. Right from the mysterious way, she came into her father’s life to her immense strength as a baby girl.  From the outspoken and bold daughter of King Janaka to the devoted yet proud wife of Rama, this is the first time that an epic as daunting as The Ramayana was turned on its head to re-tell it from the point of view of the female protagonist. Siya Ke Ram was one of the biggest shows of the year 2016, well known for its scale, splendor and grandiosity.
